Why Us

Stan Shkilnyi, (IMDB Resume) founder of Akker, LLC, brings a rare dual expertise to the insurance world—20+ years in the entertainment industry and 15 years in production insurance. He began his filmmaking journey at 16, creating documentaries showcased at NYC film festivals. A graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design with a degree in Film Producing, Stan went on to produce commercials for Coca-Cola and manage locations in Los Angeles, as well as perform stunt work in NYC.

He later launched a global film sales company, negotiating distribution deals at film markets worldwide. Negotiating deals at such markets as Cannes Film Festival, Hong Kong FilmArt, American Film Market, TIFF and more. This deep industry background shaped his unique approach to insurance: by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

  • FEATURE FILM & TV SERIES

    Annual Coverages available for Feature Films and Television Series with budgets ranging from $100,000 up to $25,000,000 gross production cost. Coverages are available for productions in US, Canada, & Worldwide. Coverages Include: General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, Equipment Rental, Props, Sets, Wardrobe, Third Party Property, Cast and Essential Elements.

  • ERRORS & OMISSIONS

    Errors & Omissions Coverages are available Worldwide for single feature film or television series of 1 to 3 year terms. We provide insurance with limits of $1,000,000/$3,000,000 or $3,000,000/$5,000,000 - deductible options of $10,000 or $25,000. Errors & Omissions for Distributors, Sales Agents, and production companies are available with the same limits and deductible options.

  • FOREIGN PRODUCTIONS

    Worldwide coverage (other than the U.S.) is available for a single production with terms from 3 days to 12 months. Single term policy for all budget ranges. Coverages include: General Liability, Workers’ Compensation (for U.S. Residents only), Auto Liability, Equipment Rental and Owned Equipment.

  • DICE/ANNUAL PRODUCTIONS

    Coverages available for production companies shooting multiple commercials, music videos, infomercials, short films, low budget features, training videos, corporate videos, interviews and more. Coverages available: General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, Owned Equipment, Rented Equipment, Props, Sets, Wardrobe, Faulty Stock, Office Contents, Cast and more.

  • MOVIE BOAT

    Insurance Coverages for boats, barges, platforms, marinas, docks, wharves and piers used during production. Available coverages include: Hull & Machinery - damage to vessels, Charter’s Liability - when insured is not responsible for operating the vessel, Wharfinger’s Liability - covers parties that control or operate a dock, pier, or marina.
